Orioles Stumble, Lose to Royals
|
It was a good time at Kauffman Stadium, where fans came to watch the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals get after it.
The Baltimore Orioles got a superb performance from first baseman Joey Votto. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kansas City. The Royals won the game, 8-4. In spite of the loss, Votto was named the player of the game. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. Jake Junis, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 6-10.
The Royals got a big at-bat from right fielder Lonnie Chisenhall. For the game, Chisenhall was 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Kansas City a 5-4 lead.
Chisenhall called the triumph "a good team win."
With the win, the Royals improved to 73-65.
