Rangers Lose to Orioles, 9-3
|
The first-place Baltimore Orioles welcomed Texas to Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Baltimore Orioles knocked off the Texas Rangers, 9-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Shohei Ohtani, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Baltimore won. The pitcher threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Ohtani went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 9-13.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when third baseman Maikel Franco drew a walk. The Orioles went on to win.
In postgame remarks, Franco said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
Baltimore leads the American League East Division by 5½ games.
