Pirates Continue Skid Thanks to Albies, Cardinals
|
Ozzie Albies made an impact in the 7-2 St. Louis win over Pittsburgh. Albies, who is tied for 7th in the NL with a .526 slugging percentage, went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The current losing streak for Pittsburgh has reached 4 games.
St. Louis took a 3-2 lead on Albies's 42nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Devan Watts in the top of the seventh, propelled St. Louis to the win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said St. Louis manager John Mondo. "Our pregame was pretty good."
