Yankees Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Boston
|
Anthony Rendon left his imprint on the 6-3 New York win against the Boston Red Sox. Rendon, who is tied for 7th in the AL in bases on balls with 79, hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. New York now owns a record of 76-67.
With runs few and far between, the Yankees had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for New York came in the top of the third inning, when right fielder Eloy Jimenez delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Manny Banuelos and made the score 3-0, Yankees. Jimenez was 2 for 5 with a double.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said New York manager Jeremiah Coggins.
