Victory Pushes Rangers Record to 88-58
|
The first-place Texas Rangers picked up another win at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Globe Life Park in Arlington, knocking off the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-3. Starting pitcher Alex Wood, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Will Harris earned his 35th save in 38 chances.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Eric Thames. For the game, Thames went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 33rd home run of the season gave Texas a 2-0 lead.
Wood told a Texas Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
Texas goes to 88-58. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
