Diamondbacks Need Extras to Top Rockies
|
Mike Trout did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Colorado Rockies from losing, 11-10, to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field. Trout went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 3 walks. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5. Arizona reliever Jairo Diaz picked up the win to move to 3-2. Chris O'Grady suffered the loss. The Diamondbacks improve their record to 68-78 with the win over Colorado.
Gleyber Torres hit a bases-clearing double off Kazuhisa Makita in the top of the 11th, which put the Diamondbacks in front, 11-8. In addition to the double, Torres had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Arizona field general Mike Arnold.
