Harper Helps Rangers Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-4, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Texas right fielder Bryce Harper earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jose Quintana was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. This win makes it 5 in a row for Texas.
In the bottom of the 6th, catcher Wilson Ramos gave Texas the lead when he hit a grand slam home run. The Rangers had been trailing 4-3, but the two-out home run off Tampa Bay pitcher Juan Nicasio changed that -- and Texas went on to win.
"This was a good win for us," said Harper. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
