Great Day for Anderson in Giants Win
|
The San Francisco Giants defeated the Miami Marlins, 5-2, at AT&T Park today. Leading the charge for San Francisco was shortstop Tim Anderson. He went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The winner was San Francisco reliever Brad Boxberger, now 5-3. The loser was Dan Winkler. The third-place Giants lifted their record to 72-76.
Anderson had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Zach Putnam, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Giants a 5-1 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Anderson.
"We played hard and won," said Anderson. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
