Late Rally by Reds Seals 7th Straight Win
|
Cincinnati overcame a superlative game from Luis Severino to beat New York, 3-2. The New York pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. Cincinnati reliever Bruce Rondon picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Drew Steckenrider was saddled with the loss. The Reds bumped their record to 83-71 with this latest triumph.
Cincinnati took a 2-1 lead on Chad Pinder's 15th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off New York pitcher Drew Steckenrider in the bottom of the eighth.
