Rangers Come Up Short at Oakland
|
Oakland starter Zach Eflin pitched effectively against the Texas Rangers at Oakland Coliseum. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. In 7 innings, Eflin surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Jerry Vasto notched his 3rd save in 3 chances.
Didi Gregorius had a productive at-bat for the Athletics with one out in the bottom of the fifth. With a runner on 3rd, the shortstop grounded out, driving in 1 run. The at-bat was important in the Oakland win.
Gregorius said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
The Athletics' win now puts them at 76-79.
