Syndergaard Sensational for Indians
|
The Cleveland Indians topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-3, in American League action at Progressive Field. The player of the game was Cleveland pitcher and Mansfield, Texas native Noah Syndergaard. Dellin Betances was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 5 save opportunities. The Indians have an impressive 96-60 record.
It was a masterful performance from the popular Syndergaard, who notched 11 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 1 hit. Syndergaard, who finished 2nd in the AL in wins with 17 last year, goes to 8-4 on the year with 90 strikeouts.
"Both teams played hard," said Cleveland manager Mitchell King.
