|
The Athletics faced a stiff challenge from Los Angeles pitcher Stephen Strasburg, but persevered to claim a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The final score was 5-4. Strasburg went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Oakland reliever Blake Parker picked up the win, upping his record to 8-6. Aroldis Chapman took the loss. Aaron Bummer, credited with the save, is now 13 for 15 in save opportunities.
Kurt Suzuki had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth for the Athletics. Coming up with the bases loaded and Oakland trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run double.
