Houston got a terrific performance from pitcher Carlos Rodon, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Angels. Los Angeles won the Angel Stadium of Anaheim contest, 4-3. Rodon was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The win was credited to Jeurys Familia in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Alex Colome took the loss. Los Angeles is now 88-72. Houston is 65-95.

Evan Longoria, the Los Angeles third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning to make the score 4-3, Angels. For the game, Longoria was 1 for 4.

Longoria told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
