Big Day at the Plate for Pederson Not Enough for Rangers
Despite a great performance by Texas left fielder Joc Pederson, the New York Yankees defeated the Rangers by the score of 9-7 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Pederson belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. New York reliever Shane Greene picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Reyes Moronta took the loss. The Yankees raised their record to 89-72.

New York relied on the hitting of Paul Goldschmidt to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees on top, 8-5. For the game, Goldschmidt had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Goldschmidt. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
