Victory Pushes Mets Record to 93-69
|
The New York Mets bested the Atlanta Braves, 7-4, at Citi Field. Starlin Castro was named player of the game. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Drew Steckenrider earned his 10th save in 15 chances. New York is now 93-69, Atlanta 69-93.
Mike Moustakas contributed to the New York win. The two-time All-Star stroked a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, Moustakas went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Moustakas told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
