Athletics Edge Angels, 7-6
|
Evan Longoria had a good game, but he could not keep the Los Angeles Angels from falling, 7-6, to the Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum. The Los Angeles third baseman went 3-6 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI in the loss. Justin R. Miller, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Oakland is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 1st in 3 games.
Herschel Powell hit a run-scoring triple off Sam Tuivailala in the bottom of the 16th, which put the Athletics in front, 7-6. Powell had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Oakland manager Tim Scholl.
