Rockies Stymie Miami, Take 3-1 Win
|
Marlins Park was the site of the home opener for the Miami Marlins. The contest featured a prime matchup between Aaron Sanchez of the visiting Colorado Rockies and Sean Newcomb of the Marlins. The final score was 3-1, the Rockies getting the win. Earning player of the game honors was Aaron Sanchez.
The Rockies got a big at-bat from right fielder Bryce Brentz. For the game, Brentz went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Colorado a 3-1 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sanchez told the Colorado Chronicle.
