Brewers Roll Over Cardinals, 13-3
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 13-3, at Miller Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Eugenio Suarez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Yusei Kikuchi, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. The Brewers keep rolling, raising their record to 2-0.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from shortstop Addison Russell. For the game, Russell was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 3-1 lead.
"I felt good up there," said Russell. "I saw the ball well."
