Cardinals Get One-Run Win at Cincinnati
|
Fans who came to Great American Ball Park watched the St. Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds fight to the finish.
The St. Louis Cardinals scored a 6-5 win versus the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. St. Louis pitcher Marcos Molina nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The winning pitcher was Molina, now 1-1. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Zack Littell recorded his 1st save for St. Louis.
The Cardinals grabbed the lead in the top of the second. With two out, Alex Bregman hit a 2-run home run off Danny Salazar, putting St. Louis in front, 4-1. For Bregman, it was his 3rd home run of the season.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said St. Louis manager John Mondo.
The Cardinals, with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
