The Miami Marlins got a stellar effort from pitcher Johnny Cueto, helping Miami score a 6-2 win over the visiting Chicago Cubs. Cueto went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-2. Blake Treinen earned the save for Miami, his 3rd of the year.

The Marlins got a big at-bat from shortstop Francisco Lindor. For the game, Lindor was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Miami a 5-2 lead.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Miami manager Pat Padula.

The Cubs fall to 5-11 and continue their lackluster start to the 2019 season.
