Frazier goes 3-for-4 to Pull Phillies to .500
|
The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Mets, 7-1, in National League action at Citizens Bank Park. Todd Frazier received player of the game honors. The 9-year veteran was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Philadelphia starter Zack Godley was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Losses have been few and far between for the Mets, who are now 13-4.
Jesus Aguilar had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the first, when he hit a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Philadelphia on top, 2-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Aguilar told the Philadelphia Today.
