Extra-Inning Win by Twins over Astros
|
The Minnesota Twins beat the Houston Astros, 8-4, in 11 innings. Minnesota third baseman Maikel Franco merited player of the game honors with his performance. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The Astros, at 5-18, have stumbled out of the gate.
It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Zach Borenstein, the 28-year old right fielder . Borenstein contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the 11th inning to put Minnesota up, 5-4.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Jim Reid. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
