Buxton Excels, But Diamondbacks Win
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Pittsburgh Pirates lit up the scoreboard at PNC Park.

Pittsburgh center fielder Byron Buxton had a good game, even if his team did not. The Pirates dropped a 15-9 decision to Arizona at PNC Park. Buxton went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The Pirates drop to 11-13 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2019 season.

Jake Cave went 1-2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Arizona. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Cave had a clutch at-bat. Facing Pittsburgh hurler Taylor Rogers, he hit a 2-run home run to give the Diamondbacks a 11-9 lead.

Cave told a Arizona Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
