Victory Over Brewers Takes New York to 17-8
|
Milwaukee got a terrific game from center fielder A.J. Pollock. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to New York, 6-3. Pollock was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. New York is now 17-8.
Nick Ahmed in the bottom of the fifth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Mets trailing 2-0, the New York shortstop hit a run-scoring double.
"I felt good up there," said Ahmed. "I saw the ball well."
