Heyward Goes on Rampage Against Indians
|
5 times is the charm -- at least for Jason Heyward.
The Houston Astros center fielder tore up the Cleveland Indians to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Minute Maid Park today. The offensive onslaught from Heyward powered the Astros to a 5-4 win.
"Heyward was a tough out today," Cleveland manager Mitchell King said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Jason Heyward hit a solo-shot off Kenta Maeda in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and hit an RBI double in the 13th.
Heyward is hitting .231 for the season with 5 home runs, 10 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 91 at-bats and played in 24 games.
