Houston pitcher Daniel Mengden did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Indians, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Picking up the save was James Pazos, his 5th. The Astros have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 9th win in 28 games.

With the bases empty and one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, shortstop Jermaine Palacios delivered big for the Astros. Houston was trailing 1-0 when he belted a solo home run.

After the game, Houston manager Jim Reid applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
