Victory Pushes Brewers Record to 18-16
|
The Milwaukee Brewers downed the New York Mets, 5-2, at Miller Park. The Brewers were led by Eugenio Suarez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs. Milwaukee reliever DJ Johnson picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Steve Cishek was saddled with the loss. The first-place Brewers are now 18-16, the Mets 20-12.
Milwaukee pinch hitter Taylor Motter had a nice game. In the bottom of the seventh inning with one out, he belted a 2-run home run for the Brewers. It made the score 3-2, Milwaukee. For the game, Motter was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I really like what we did out there today," Suarez said after the game.
