Rangers Use Extras to Top White Sox, Lead DS 2-1
|
The Texas Rangers went into extra innings against the Chicago White Sox but ultimately moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today. The Rangers downed the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field by a score of 6-4. Texas center fielder Ender Inciarte was named player of the game after he went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The win gives the Rangers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.
Bryce Harper hit a run-scoring triple off Brian Clark in the top of the 11th, which put the Rangers in front, 5-4. In addition to the triple, Harper had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 5.
"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Texas manager Eric Ferraro said.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago. Slated to start are Yonny Chirinos for Texas and Paul Clemens for Chicago.
