Phillies Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
|
The Philadelphia Phillies moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the Milwaukee Brewers on the road at Miller Park by a score of 6-1. Phillies right-hander Doug Fister was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Phillies a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.
Todd Frazier, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Philadelphia cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the first. For the game, the third baseman went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Milwaukee manager Jonathan Adelman.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The scheduled starters for the game are Adam Wainwright for the Milwaukee Brewers and David Price for the the Philadelphia Phillies.
