Toronto Tops Texas 7-2, Claim 2-1 Series Lead
|
With starter Michael Fulmer leading the charge, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Texas Rangers, 7-2, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. The right-hander threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball at Globe Life Park in Arlington to help Toronto take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Dee Gordon, who is a two-time All-Star, hit a single. The Blue Jays went on to win.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Fulmer.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Clayton Kershaw for Toronto and Yonny Chirinos for Texas.
