Blue Jays Clip Nationals 2-1 in WS Contest
|
In a crucial game, the Toronto Blue Jays put on their best show, beating the Washington Nationals by a final score of 2-1 today. Nathan Karns earned player of the game honors, as he threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Toronto and Washington are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Toronto grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Andrew McCutchen delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Blue Jays.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said McCutchen. "And not try to do too much."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Slated to start are Zack Wheeler for the Washington Nationals and Clayton Kershaw for the the Toronto Blue Jays.
