Orioles Get Past Rangers 5-3 to Open DS
The Baltimore Orioles started the Division Series in style today, winning on the road against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington by a score of 5-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Orioles left-hander Drew Smyly was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball.

The result might have been different for Baltimore, had it not been for Asdrubal Cabrera. The shortstop produced a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 4-3. For the game, Cabrera had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Cabrera. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Arlington. Slated to start are J.A. Happ for the Baltimore Orioles and Jon Lester for the the Texas Rangers.
