Marlins Bang Out 7-3 Win Versus New York
|
Miami beat New York on the strength of starter Julio Urias's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 7-3 win. Urias, now 4-0, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Marlins go to 21-17, putting them third in the National League East Division.
Miami needed the clutch hitting of Javier Baez to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Marlins on top, 4-1. For the game, Baez had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I love to hit," said Baez. "As long as I keep loving it, the game's going to love me back."
