Cleveland Trades Gordon for Chicago's Martinez Monday, July 22nd, 2019 In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Cleveland Indians have swapped 21-year-old minor league 3B Carter Kieboom, 20-year-old minor league LF Calvin Mitchell, 22-year-old minor league 2B Willi Castro and 23-year-old minor league SS Nick Gordon to the Chicago White Sox for 31-year-old LF J.D. Martinez. The Indians GM told reporters, "We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it." Presently Martinez is hitting .305 with 34 home runs and 75 RBIs. He has played in 97 games and scored 73 times. |
