Kansas City-Chicago Trade: Hernandez for Alvarado

The Royals and the White Sox finalized a deal this afternoon. Kansas City has traded for 24-year-old LHP Jose Alvarado and in return Chicago will receive 34-year-old minor league RHP David Hernandez, 23-year-old minor league 3B Emmanuel Rivera and 24-year-old minor league RHP Tyson Miller.


Hernandez has pitched 33.2 innings and molded a 4.28 ERA with 2 saves. He has surrendered 34 hits while registering 30 strikeouts on his way to a 3-0 record for the White Sox this year.

Alvarado has collected 18 saves for the year with 63 strikeouts and 20 walks in 40 innings while registering a 2.70 ERA and a 0-4 won-lost record.
