Sale Guns Downs 15 Mets Friday, August 16th, 2019 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Chris Sale, the Kansas City Royals topped the New York Mets today by a score of 5-0 at Kauffman Stadium. The 30-year-old Sale brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 3 hits and giving up 1 walk. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Mets manager Larry Linke said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." On the season Sale has 16 wins and 3 losses and a 2.73 ERA.
