Verlander Hurls No-Hitter Friday, September 6th, 2019 San Diego Padres starter Justin Verlander was unhittable today at Petco Park. Verlander beat the Colorado Rockies 5-0, breezing through the Rockies lineup en route to a no-hitter. "I thought Justin started off a little slow and was struggling with his command at first," Padres manager Danny Raymond said later. "He lucked his way through the early innings, and they helped him out by not being patient. Eventually, it all came together for him, and from there on the Rockies never had a chance. He dominated them." Verlander struck out 16 batters and issued no walks in the performance. In 29 starts this season, Verlander has recorded 20 wins and absorbed 6 losses.
