Chicago Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, September 7th, 2019 Many Chicago Cubs fans have already turned their attention to next season, and with good reason. Even with a good chunk of the schedule still left to play, the club was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. Chicago last appeared in the postseason in 2017. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 134 times in their 148-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Cubs have missed the playoffs 7 times. Chicago last won the World Series in 2016. |
