Zimmerman Makes 300 HR Mark

At PNC Park Ryan Zimmerman smashed his 300th career home run in a game against St. Louis today. The 34-year-old first baseman had a hand in the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-9 victory with 2 home runs and 3 runs batted in. For the day he went 2 hits-3 at-bats.

At the press conference after the game, Zimmerman downplayed his achievement.

"To reach 300 home runs is amazing and something I'll always cherish. I've been fortunate to remain healthy and play at a high level through most of my career."

Looking at his all-time stats, Zimmerman has a career .277 average with 1966 hits, 440 doubles, 21 triples, 301 home runs and 1122 RBIs to date. He has scored 1032 runs, walked 677 times and stolen 42 bases.
