Royals End Polanco's Streak
Friday, September 13th, 2019
Jorge Polanco, shortstop for the Houston Astros, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Kansas City Royals today. Not only did the Royals break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Houston by the score of 10-4.

"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Polanco said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."

This year Polanco has socked 132 hits in 490 at-bats for a .269 average with 13 home runs. He is getting on base at a .336 pace and his totals also include 57 RBIs and 63 runs scored.
