Royals Come up Short of Playoffs Saturday, September 28th, 2019 Kansas City Royals manager Bryce Shuck said his club came "agonizingly close" to making the playoffs. But close won't be good enough this year, as the Royals have now been officially ousted from contention. The Royals have missed the playoffs 46 times in their 50 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 4th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2014. In the last 10 seasons, the Royals have missed the playoffs 8 times. Kansas City last won the World Series in 2015. |
