San Diego Takes League Championship Series

The San Diego Padres were paced by a strong offensive output from Jose Pirela as they downed the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 to win the League Championship Series.

San Diego won the final game by a score of 3-1 at Miller Park to send themselves off to the World Series.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said right fielder Pirela, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .571 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The San Diego Padres will play against the Cleveland Indians in the next round. Cleveland won their series against the Baltimore Orioles 4 games to 1. The World Series is scheduled to begin on October 22nd, 2019.
