Kroon Blisters Springfield Sunday, August 4th, 2019 Matt Kroon put on a hitting clinic today as the Altoona Curve dumped the Springfield Cardinals 30-7 at Hammons Field. The Altoona shortstop made Springfield defenders earn their pay, lashing Springfield pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it." "Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Kroon said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch." Matt Kroon struck out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Logan Allen in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
