Gatewood Goes Deep 3 Times Monday, August 12th, 2019 Midland first baseman Jake Gatewood blasted three homers today at Hank Aaron Stadium in the 12-7 RockHounds victory over the Mobile BayBears. For the game, Jake Gatewood scored 4 times and knocked in 5 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Gatewood when he reached home plate. "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-4, three roundtrippers and a win," a gleeful Gatewood told BNN reporters in a postgame interview. "What a day." Jake Gatewood grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Hernandez in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jonathan Hernandez in the 4th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Juan De Dios Nunez in the 9th. This season Gatewood is batting at a .340 clip with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs. |
