League Suspends Kramer and Escobar for Fisticuffs
Sunday, August 18th, 2019
Yesterday at ONEOK Field Kevin Kramer and Luis Escobar got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Tulsa Drillers and Biloxi Shuckers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.

Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Kramer will have to sit out 5 while Escobar would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.

Kramer is currently batting .312 with 11 home runs, 63 RBIs and 74 runs scored. He has 118 hits in 378 at-bats.

Escobar has made 23 starts so far this year and put up a 8-5 won-lost record with a 4.24 ERA. In 116.2 innings he has allowed 97 hits, walked 46 and struck out 145.
