Super Swinger -- Reyes Slams 5 Hits Tuesday, August 27th, 2019 Victor Reyes exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Hammons Field. The Hartford right fielder had a field day in the 49-5 triumph over the Springfield Cardinals, finishing 5-for-8. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Reyes must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Victor Reyes flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, struck out in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th, flied out in the 9th and singled in the 9th. So far this season, Reyes has recorded a .352 batting average with 182 hits, 5 home runs, 75 RBIs, 83 runs scored and a .392 OBP. |
