Sheets Cracks 5 Hits Sunday, April 28th, 2019 5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Stockton's Gavin Sheets made it happen today against the Tarpons. Everything came together at the plate for the 23-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and led the Ports to a 8-4 win at George M. Steinbrenner Field. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Sheets said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Gavin Sheets singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run double in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. So far this season Sheets has 3 home runs and a .474 batting average. |
