LaValley on Fire: 6-for-6 for Fort Myers
Tuesday, July 16th, 2019
Even as a kid, Gavin LaValley said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Hammond Stadium today, LaValley showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 24-year-old first baseman had 6 hits in 6 at-bats for the Fort Myers Miracle, helping his team knock off the Modesto Nuts by a score of 19-3.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."

Gavin LaValley doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Tyler Kolek in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.

To date LaValley has chalked up a .358 average with 18 home runs, driven in 79 runs and scored 66 times.
