Diaz Hit String Snapped at 21 Monday, July 22nd, 2019 It just wasn't Lewin Diaz's day. The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes took the 4-2 win today over the Lancaster JetHawks, but the JetHawks mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 21-game hitting streak of Quakes first baseman Lewin Diaz. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Diaz," Lancaster manager commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Quakes have other hitters and they did their job today." Diaz is currently hitting at a .327 pace with 18 home runs, 66 RBIs and has scored 64 times. |
