Tortugas Nick Fortes Wins NC Award Monday, July 29th, 2019 22-year-old catcher Nick Fortes of the Daytona Tortugas is the talk of the National Conference for putting on a torrid hitting display last week and claiming the Player of the Week Award. Fortes rapped out a sensational .550 batting average with 11 hits in 20 at-bats, 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. Thus far this year Fortes is hitting .258 with 8 home runs, 29 RBIs and 34 runs scored. |
